Dear Parents & Carers,
Good morning, I hope this letter finds you all well and that you have all had a good weekend
As we enter our last week of the school year, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all our wonderful students for what has been an eventful, action packed but rewarding year at Armley Grange school. I have been impressed by our students and their ability to cope with some inevitable changes to routine as well as their resilience in times when school is hard and they are tired.
I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of our wonderful staff, who go above and beyond to care for our students and provide them with a safe and nurturing environment where they can learn and thrive.
Finally, I wanted to give thanks to all parents who have shown me support and kindness in what has been my first year at Armley Grange as Headteacher. I am proud to say that our school has grown and developed over the year into a place where students are happy and focused on their learning, and I look forward to this growth and improvement continuing next year.
Leavers
As is always the case at the end of a school year, we are sad to say that we will be losing two members of the staff team as they head off for a new challenge.
Danielle Dobek is leaving us this summer to take up post at a new SEND school in Leeds. We wish Dani all the best for the future and thank her for all of her hard work especially in the creative arts subjects where she has led with great passion throughout her time in post.
Aimee Heaney our newly appointed attendance lead and family liaison is also moving onto a new post in her son’s primary school. Aimee has made a big impact in the short time she has been with us, and we wish her well in the future.
Friday the 25th of July
On our last day of the year, we would like to invite all parents into school for a cup of tea, slice of cake and a catch up with staff. Our students will be performing a short play that they have been working on every Wednesday for the past term, led by a local drama group, The Northern Arts Company. The parents will be welcomed into school from 10.30 and as always, we would appreciate confirmation of attendance on this day, which is a 12pm finish for all students.
We will have to limit places to 2 per student and would kindly as that you email Jade Palmer to let her know if you intend to come. jade.palmer@armleygrangeschool.co.uk
If you are unable to attend, please can you let your child’s taxi know of the earlier finish time of 12pm.
I hope you have a lovely week, and we see as many of you as possible in school this coming Friday. If you are unable to attend, may I take this opportunity to wish you all a fabulous summer, and we look forward to welcoming all students back into school on Wednesday the 3rd of September.
Best wishes,
James and the Armley Grange school staff.
