Jonathan Lerman artwork

In ART, we have been looking at Jonathan Lerman’s work of faces.

Students really engaged with the idea that faces are not symmetrical and we’re quite shocked at the young age Lerman began his work (10 years old!) and had his own exhibition at 12 years old in NY. We looked at materials such as charcoal and chalk.

The students designed their own faces with chalk. Some students dived straight into Lerman-style and created a zoomed in close up of a face whilst others took a more political road and drew the face of a ‘Tax-Man’ and wrote the quote ‘the elusion of freedom’ underneath a very bushy eye-browed, angry looking face!
